Northern apple ciders from Koskikylä

Johku Siiderimo makes cider in the old Koskikylä dairy on the banks of Johku River. The apples come from the orchard behind the dairy, where over twenty hardy varieties have learned to live with northern winters. Join a tour, taste our ciders and take a bottle home.

Three ways to make cider

Orchard Series ciders are dry, crisp food ciders, and the sparkling ones ferment a second time in the bottle. Frost ciders are pressed from frozen apples for a sweet, bright partner to dessert. The Experimental Cellar is where we try wild yeasts, local berries and oak barrels in small numbered batches.

Tour and tasting in the old dairy

See how apples turn into cider, from crushing and pressing to fermenting and bottling, and finish with four ciders. Public tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm from June to September, group tours year-round by arrangement.

Themed tastings for groups

Ciders with local food, frost cider and desserts, or the Experimental Cellar: choose a theme and our cider maker hosts the tasting here or at your venue in Johkula. Minimum five guests.
